What We Offer
Little Dragons Classes- offered to our students ages 4 to 6. Little Dragons is specifically designed with younger students in mind. We teach focus, coordination , working on balance and direction, all while having a great time! Classes are scheduled in 8 week sessions, with session 1 beginning in September.
Tae Kwon Do – one of the most popular martial arts in the world. It is the “sport of kicking and punching”. Perfect for all ages, students learn stances, kicks, punches, and some self defense. It is taught to students age 7 and up, or those who have completed our “Little Dragons” program.
Hap Ki Do – one of the oldest martial arts in history. Dating back over 4000 years, it literally translates to “The Art of Coordinated Power”. Students in HapKiDo are well rounded in their education, learning, kicks, punches, forms, joint locks, pressure point tactics, self defense, as well as weapons training. Due to the higher level of difficulty, HapKiDo is limited to students over age 9.

Our Instructors
Mr. Sutton is a 3rd degree black belt in HapKiDo and has been training in HapKiDo for over 5 years. He is the head instructor for Northern Martial Arts. Steve served in the U.S. Army’s 2-4 Cavalry Regiment in the Gulf War as a helicopter crew chief.
Mrs. Amy Spegele is a 1st Dan in Hap Ki Do. “Martial arts and running a marathon has always been on my list of things to do. Growing up I was never athletic. Putting my son in class was the first step towards my own goals. I watched him for a few months, then decided I could do this. A few years later, I was a black belt. Along the way I met my future running partner. She said let’s run a 5k together. Hap ki do gave me the confidence to feel like I could do anything, so I agreed. I still ran like a girl (not in a good way) and the 3 miles about killed me. So she challenged me to work hard, and do a half marathon with her. My first day, my first year, of Hap ki do was full of awkward moments, but I learned to get over myself and press on to reach my goal. Running was the same thing. It wasn’t easy or natural. Now, just over a year later, I have completed a few 5k’s (3.2 miles) 10k’s (6.4 miles), 2 half marathons (13.1 miles) and may 1st finished my 1st full marathon (26.2 miles). I have learned that no goal is unachievable, that it takes hard work and determination, but if you don’t let yourself get in your way you can do it. I fill my life with positive people and positive quotes. I’m not the fastest, not even close, I’m not the best, but I’m me, and I am thankful for the body God gave me, and I am using it the best I can.”
